Questions

Common questions.

When should my child first see the dentist?
By their first birthday, or when their first tooth comes in — whichever comes first. Early visits are short, friendly, and focused on prevention.
What if my child is anxious?
We slow things down, explain every step, and let kids touch and 'try out' the tools. Most nervous kids leave smiling.
What are fluoride and sealants?
Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens enamel and helps reverse the earliest signs of decay — we apply it in a quick treatment after a cleaning. Sealants are thin, tooth-colored coatings painted into the deep grooves of the back teeth, where food and bacteria get trapped and toothbrush bristles can't reach.
Why do you recommend them — even for adults?
Most cavities in kids start in the grooves of the back teeth, so sealing new permanent molars soon after they come in protects them through the years they're most at risk. Cavity risk doesn't end with childhood, though: adults with deep grooves, dry mouth, receding gums, braces or aligners, or a history of cavities get the same protection from fluoride and sealants.
