Treatments

Treatment options
we offer.

Option 01

Wisdom teeth removal

A thorough exam and X-rays, then careful removal with detailed recovery instructions.

Option 02

Tooth extractions

When a tooth can't be saved, we remove it as gently as possible and walk through your replacement options.

Option 03

Self-dissolving stitches

When an extraction needs stitches, we use sutures that dissolve or fall out on their own — no return visit just to have them removed.

Oral Surgery & Extractions at AZ Family Dentistry is provided by our general dentists, not by board-certified dental specialists.

Questions

Common questions.

Will I be sedated?
We offer local anesthesia and additional comfort options depending on the procedure and your preference. We'll talk through what's right for you at your consult.
How long is recovery?
Most patients are back to normal eating within a few days. We'll give you specific instructions and a follow-up plan based on your procedure.
What is dry socket, and how do I avoid it?
After an extraction, a blood clot forms in the socket to protect the bone while it heals. Dry socket happens when that clot is lost too early, leaving the area painful. Smoking or vaping is the biggest risk — the suction can pull the clot loose and the chemicals slow healing — so hold off for at least 72 hours, longer if you can. Drinking through a straw, spitting, and rinsing hard can dislodge it too. If the pain gets worse a few days after your extraction instead of better, call us.
