Dental implants are a solution for replacing single or multiple missing teeth in an arch.
They are popularly used to replace a single missing tooth space in lieu of a fixed dental bridge, without involving the adjacent teeth.
However, they can also be used to replace multiple teeth in the form of an implant supported fixed bridge or in conjunction with a removable partial or complete full denture. These replacement options require placement of multiple implants in the jaw bone.
The implants are placed surgically to the upper and lower jawbone of your teeth. After the implant has fused or integrated with the bone, a restoration is anchored to the single implant or multiple implants. When completed, an implant restoration will look and feel like a natural tooth and will enhance and restore your smile.
The process of receiving dental implants may require multiple visits spanning the course of several months. During these visits you may expect the following procedures: X-rays, impressions (molds), surgically placed implants (including placement of the post and anchor), and the fitting and attachment of artificial teeth.
